Historic Masson Mills between Cromford and Matlock Bath, is a Grade II* listed mill, which is part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, it is home to a working textile and hydropower museum. The hydropower scheme was installed in 1995. The entire site is supplied with renewable energy produced by its hydroelectric turbines with any surplus fed into the National Grid. The hydroelectricity produced emits no emissions to air, land or water, thereby minimising the carbon footprint of Masson Mills and those visiting the site.
